    I thought that this book was rather insightful and somewhat profound judging that the author wrote this when she was in her teen years, I quite enjoyed the allusion to one of Robert Frost’s deepest poems. Moreover I do not believe that the perspective of “jack the other dog” is worth spreading, first and foremost, the author is female so the pronoun “he” is not accurate, second off, your writing is as amateurish as your grammar is incorrect so please, while I respect your opinion and your first amendment right to express the aforementioned opinion, I do not believe that it is well informed. I give this book four stars.

    This is among the worst books I have read in my life. The characters were unappealing and distant; I did not care whether they lived or died. Some were also quite odd, such as the character who loved anything Italian, and was really into cycling. His traits the author never tired of driving home. I did not like their interests, their attitudes, or their ways. Perhaps the characters had difficulity realating to others. Well, I had difficulty relating to the characters. I am happy that most books are so much better! I would recommend you not read this book. It was uninspiring and depressing and self-absorbed. (I cannot believe some schools require this book to be read!)

    I don't enjoy hating on things. I really don't. But The Outsiders bugged me. Badly. It's got depression, murder, near suicide, drugs and moody teenagers. The only good thing in this is SODAPOP. Everyone is such downers. Honestly PLOT: Sir Pony and Johnny Test are friends. Celebration, whoopy do. Sir Pony is slapped by Nutso Bro. Sir Pony and Johnny Test murder someone. They burn down a church, smoke WAY too much and chop off their hair. (HEY JOHNNY!!! GET SOME SCISSORS AND CUT YOUR HAIR!!! Ok.) Johnny is burned and killed. Dallyis decides to get himself shot by cops because John John was the only thing he loved. Yay. The only reason people like this is cuz the movie has cute actors.😑😑😑😑😑😑😑 It needed a better plot story and deeper characters. SE Hinton, Sodapop saved it. Soda earned it. Sadly, you did not. Those who enjoy it, that's great. You can see quality where I cannot. If I insulted anyone in anyway, I apologize for the inconvenience.

    the book itself is great. however if you were assigned this book, please read it on time for class because if you slack you will end up purchasing this book thinking it is audio but it is not. Just a warning for everyone that this is NOT an audio book

    We had to read this for a seventh grade language arts assignment and I went into it thinking I would hate it, but it was actually awesome once you get past the first chapter! I will never think about certain things the same way, and what a great book!
