    Great book. Easy to follow instructions but not always easy to do. It is definitely a diet that can lead to excellent long term health.

    I am in the midst of reading this book, taken from our local library. It has completely changed my thinking in terms of what I should focus on as a diabetic. Sugar and carbs have become a "symptom", and the real enemy has become a high fat diet. I'm working a lazy man's version of the diet, and my blood sugar averages 110, and I haven't been on medication (500mg/Metformin) for months... not bad for a diabetic!!! If one were to follow this regimen to the letter, they would see significant changes in their health, whether they were diabetic or not. I'm on a vegetarian/pescetarian/vegan diet. If have something that contains animal fats or protein (hence my saying it's a lazy man's version), the amount I have is so small as to be insignificant. I am an avid label reader now, and per the book I only have to read a label once for it's fat content. Once I've read it, I know whether it's good for me or not... it's not going to change. Thank you, Dr. Barnard, for changing the way I look at life and benefitting whole-heartedly from it!
