    Absolutely mind numbing. Don't think a person in my family in this generation would have survived what this family had to endure. I cannot get my mind wrapped around the cruelty of the Holocaust.

    What a phenomenal book. It draws you in from the first page. It makes you feel like you are a member of the family. You are scared for them. You cry with them. You feel their sorrow and pain. But you also celebrate with them. And have pride in the family members and their strength. Big sigh. I LOVED this book.

    I knew this would be an intense book based on the topic. I was amazed by the story and pulled into each character's experience on an emotional level. Extremely well written and we need this type of story to be remembered in today's world where there are similar situations of refugees around us.

I didn't watch any television for the last few days and read at every moment I had the chance because I truly could not put this book down!!!
